Educational Opportunities

The Watermark Institute will be making an exceptionally unique contribution to the security and defense community by taking security education to new heights. The Institute will offer a large number of courses that go further and deeper into the tough challenges found in today’s security, critical infrastructure protection, and disaster response fields. The courses are equivalent to 3 credit hours of graduate work and are taught by seasoned security professionals who also have extensive training, teaching and educational backgrounds, and advanced academic degrees. Watermark Institute courses go well beyond basic skills training. They are not “data dumps” from instructor to student, and they are not intended to tell the student only what he or she needs to know to do the job today. Instead, the Institute’s courses are designed for the thinking security professional who wants to know the “how” and the “why” of security while acquiring the analytical skills needed to anticipate and meet the challenges of the next decade. Classes will be small and can be taught either in a classroom setting or online. Students will be able to draw upon the growing depository of professional security documents the Institute has collected within its own online library, conduct research, and advance in their fields using their own written products under the guidance of a uniquely qualified faculty.
